Hello! Welcome to my page. My name is Delia Kirk. I am a Bi racial 35-year-old mother married with three beautiful children. Living as a biracial woman of color has been challenging at times. I believe with every challenge, you become stronger and smarter, And as a child of God, I believe in his plan.
I am a returning student from seven years ago. Currently, I am a full-time student at Salt Lake Community College Majoring in Gen ED/Social Work. I am very interested in pursuing studies in the field of Social Work. Helping and counseling others comes naturally to me and is extremely rewarding. Characteristics of different personalities has always had a way of capturing my attention and continues with me wanting to know more! I believe knowledge is a gift, that unfortunately, people do not always have the means or resources to pursue it. Given this opportunity to continue, school is a blessing. Being a mother and wife keeps me dedicated to doing my best academically. The idea of being able to pursue my dream and have a career in Social work gives me the drive to do my absolute best. I hope to be able to make a positive difference in people's lives; this is my strength and ambition. Part of having strength means you except your weakness. My weakness Is only a challenge meant to overcome. Education can be challenging to retain alongside motherhood and exams. Something I continue to learn and overcome. I share my weakness openly, in hopes that one day I can inspire someone with a similar story. Being a mother of three is a full-time task alone. The challenge comes with managing time and dividing attention. Despite the difficulty, I manage to get it done, and to me, this is a strength. Overall, I have learned my dedication as a student eager to learn and experience the college curriculum. I aspire to continue to better myself, to adequately be prepared to exert what I have learned. Making the best of the knowledge I gained and be able to contribute back to my community. |
